Our family is currently in the process of setting up in a new home right now. Also, as a church, things are getting a lot busier now that restrictions are lifting. We are hosting extra services and getting ready for more church events, all of which is great and exciting. Yet it also feels like such a hectic season! Busy all the time with always something else to do. We often fall into bed totally exhausted.
The reality is you cannot burn the candle at both ends for ever and get away with it. Something must inevitably give.
But what if it is something much more serious for you to deal with? A sudden blow you feel you can never recover from, a mental scar so deep you don’t how you will ever recover? It could be a sudden death, a serious illness or even unexpected financial pressure.
Isaiah 40v28-31 tells us this:
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint
It is at such times we must go directly to The Master. God never gets tired or weak. He is never is stuck for ideas. It is He who gives power to the faint, He who strengthens.
All of us in life hit challenging and draining times. The answer we are told is to “Wait upon The Lord’. Don’t try and run ahead or second guess Him, for that just won’t work at all. I pray each of you enters a new season with God at the helm of your life. Running in His power and experiencing His blessing.
Much love from Pastor John and all @GCF
