Throughout the UK many of the restrictions that have been in place over the past couple of years are now lifting. Also, towards the end of this month the clocks go forward one hour- meaning in practical terms you lose one hour but it is the start of a new season.
During lockdown and beyond you may have felt you lost many things such as time with family and friends, holidays or finances. Sadly, some have even lost family members under heart-breaking circumstances.
God’s word also importantly speaks of starting over.
Colossians 3 v 9-10 tells us:
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him
We are called to put off the old nature and put on the new! The old is corrupt, sinful and far from God. The new bears the image of Christ. Sometimes you have to lose to gain! That is a scary thought, isn’t it? There can be a fear of change - yet some change is essential. So, it is to get to Jesus. God’s Holy Spirit works in us which gets rid of the old and replaces with the new.
2 Corinthians 5 v 17:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Praying each and every one of you know The Lords richest blessing in this new season.
Much love from Pastor John and all at GCF.
