Matthew 10v5-7:
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand
I invite you to consider the above verses in the context of evangelism today. Now, we know we are told to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We also know that in the book of Acts the New Testament church spread exponentially. However, I would like to focus on beginning where The Lord has planted you - at least to begin with!
Jesus disciples were first called to work in Israel, their own nation and among their own people before going further afield (which they certainly did.)
In Breakthrough Church we have recently moved into a vibrant and thriving community as our new home. It’s an amazing opportunity to reach out with the love of Christ. We aim to soak that venture in prayer to begin with. Next step, to bring those in our immediate sphere of influence under the gospel of Christ.
You know if people meet us, little will change in their lives. However, if they meet Jesus - everything changes!
Begin by asking The Lord who He can lead you to share the good news with? Ask them along to church, better still go and collect them and bring them yourself. As others sowed into you, now you have the privilege of doing likewise.
It was a great message 2000 years ago “the kingdom of God is at hand” and it’s still relevant today!
Blessings from all @ Breakthrough Church
